Lighting Offices with LED Troffers is Easy, Efficient and an Affordable Solution for Office Building Upgrades
Nobody wants to work in an office building with lighting fixture lenses that are yellowing, cracking and dirty. “Workers are more productive and happier when lighting is clear and crisp,” was the conclusion drawn by a office building owner in suburban Atlanta. In the quest to improve aesthetics, the owner found choosing between all the various types of LED troffers & tubes the market to be overwhelming.
In fact, when he discovered that the T12’s currently installed were no longer manufactured, he turned to ALB Energy Solutions for advice. ALB Energy Solutions helped him make cost comparisons to LED fixtures, and he was pleasantly surprised to learn that there was not much difference in installed cost between LED verses retrofitting to T8 fluorescents, especially when considering the lamp and ballast maintenance costs.
“While some LED tubes are cheaper they may be move involved in installing which ends up making them cost more,” said Norah Silva, ALB Energy Solutions consultant. “The LED fixtures are easier to install. They also are dimmable and work great with occupancy sensors. Keeping the lights off, when the office area is not occupied enhances the overall energy savings”.
In the end, the office building retrofitted 24, 2 Lamp, U Tube F34 T12/T38T12 2 X 2 Fixtures & 60, 4 Lamp, F40 T12/T38 2 X 4 Fixtures with an equivalent number of LED troffer 2X2 35W 4000K dimmable fixtures.
ALB Energy Solutions handled the installation and removal and recycled the old lamps and fixtures as well. Finally they assisted the customer in filing for a Georgia Power rebate for energy efficient lighting.
It was a total turnkey solution, which paid off for employees and owner alike.
